NC Sets Central General Convention for January 10–12

Lalitpur: After weeks of internal deliberations, the Nepali Congress has finalized January 10–12, 2026, as the dates for its Central General Convention.

The decision was endorsed during the NC Central Committee meeting that concluded today, party spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said. The meeting also fixed December 6 as the deadline for distributing active party memberships.

According to the finalized schedule, the renewal of active memberships must be completed by December 10, while all processes concerning new active members are to be wrapped up by December 23. The party has agreed to ensure greater inclusion and youth participation in the new membership distribution.

As per the convention roadmap, the convention of liaison committees must be completed by December 30, followed by village and municipal conventions on December 31, and province regional conventions on January 3.

Regional conventions and those in single-constituency districts will be held by January 5, while district conventions in multi-constituency districts are scheduled for January 6. Provincial conventions will take place on January 7–8.

Meanwhile, the Central Committee, whose term was set to expire on December 9, will now continue until mid-February 2026, as decided by the meeting.
